Gala dinner - Cervino Award
The name of the award pays tribute to Joaquín José Cervino, Magistrate and romantic writer, who was the author of the texts of the Moor and Christian embassies that have been recited since 1860 at the Moors and Christians festivals in Ontinyent. These texts are an essential part of the festivals and have great historical and cultural value for the city, having been declared the act of the embassies, where the verses of the embassy are recited, as an Intangible Cultural Asset of Interest by the plenary session of the Consell de la Generalitat Valenciana.
The Award The Cervino is awarded at a ceremony held at the Casino of the Sociedad de Festeros. The award winner is chosen by the Governing Board of the Sociedad de Festeros, which evaluates the candidates' contributions over time. The award winners include individuals, entities and associations that have demonstrated a remarkable commitment to preserving and promoting the traditions of Ontinyent.

Parade and party posting
The parade ends at the foot of the castle, in a Plaza Mayor packed with people waiting for the magic words.
From the platform that presides over the square, the secretary of the Society, escorted by the First Trons and children, calls the standard-bearers of the different comparsas so that the president and mayor impose the accrediting medals on them.
Next, the captains, ambassadors and standard-bearers of the past year, will carry out the protocol The mayor and the president address the audience with a few words of festive praise, ending with the expected phrase: 'Ladies and knights: We are in the Festivities!' The band plays the hymn to Ontinyent, which is sung by all those present, and the event is concluded. Significance of the Publication event: Nowadays, when we enjoy a certain economic and political balance, this is an expected event because it announces the proximity of the Festival. But in times past, with less stability in all fields - times with fearsome diseases capable of decimating the population; times when the local economy was affected by both the lack of rain and the excess of it; times of political uncertainty and war - the Publication was not just another day of celebration; it was not only music and a parade in the streets; it meant much more; It meant that there would be festivities that year and that the groups that took part in them - and only those - would be the ones that would participate in the upcoming festivities.

Presentation of the Festival Poster
After the vibrant Publication parade, the stage is set to receive the big moment: the unveiling of the official poster. With palpable expectation and beating hearts, citizens gather in the square, eager to witness the revelation of the image that will symbolise the spirit of the festivities. With contagious fervour, sounds of festive music and the murmur of the crowd intertwine, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
As the poster emerges before the expectant gaze of all, a unanimous ovation is unleashed that resonates in every corner The event culminates with the performance of two hymns that resonate in the hearts of the people of Ontinyent: the Moorish march Chimo by José María Ferrero Pastor, a revered emblem of our festivities, and the city anthem by Rafael Martínez Valls. These melodies, imbued with history and fervour, infuse the festive atmosphere with a sense of identity and pride rooted in the community. When the notes of Chimo are heard, the festive spirit reaches its peak, reminding all those present of the greatness of our traditions. Immediately afterwards, the Ontinyent anthem rises in a unified chorus, uniting all those present in a feeling of gratitude and love for our beloved city. It is a moment of communion and celebration, where music connects us with our deepest Ontinyentine essence, thus marking the end of an act that remains in memory as a tribute to our roots and our community.
