The Society of Festers... from within
Discover how the festivities are organized, who drives them and what spaces make it possible for the tradition to remain alive every year in Ontinyent.
Welcome to our festivity
The Society of Revelers of the Holy Christ of Agony of Ontinyent invites you to take a walk through our festivity. It wants to share the festive spirit of Ontinyent and its Moors and Christians with you.
From here you can discover the history, the main events celebrated every year during the last week of August, and learn about each of the twenty-four Ontinyent troupes, twelve from the Christian army and twelve from the Moorish army.
Come closer to a festivity more than a century old, born in 1860, and beating in the heart of every man and woman from Ontinyent who dresses as a Moor or a Christian.
The Presidency

President
Ricardo Calabuig Gandía
The revelers have entrusted each of us with an important task: to work for our Festivity, for its present, but above all for its future.
I feel a huge responsibility, a direct responsibility before all revelers, who expect from their President and the governing team more deeds than words.
We must be aware of the difficulties, but also aware of our mission. That is why I commit my full effort to continue strengthening the role of the Society as the main economic and social driver of Ontinyent.
Board of Governors

The Society of Revelers of the Holy Christ of Agony of Ontinyent gathers the traditions stemming from the 1632 patronage, preserving them and organising the Moors and Christians Festivity held each August in honour of the town’s patron saint.
