Llauradors
A bit of history...
It first appeared in the festivities in 1883.
The clothing, both formal and everyday, is closely related to the traditional garments worn in the countryside and cities of our country during the 18th and 19th centuries. In fact, the formal outfit consists of a black velvet vest and trousers, a white blouse, a red "Morellana" sash, red garters, a blanket over the shoulder, a blouse, and a scarf around the neck. They wear mask-style espadrilles. In everyday clothing, they wear a patterned vest, as well as the prized "Saragüells", the red sash, stockings, garters, and mask-style espadrilles.
In 1991, this comparsa revived the “Ball dels Llauradors,” which, together with those of other comparsas, used to parade through the town’s streets from the late 19th century until the Spanish war. Since 2008, this dance has been performed in the streets of Ontinyent on the night of the Friday before the main festival week.
It is also traditional, since its revival in 1990, to distribute the verses of the "Nit de l’Alardo", where the members of the comparsa are named and signed by Granota del Pou del Canyís. From 2022 onwards, they have been written together with La Granoteta del Pou de l’Olleta.
