Mossàrabs

A bit of history...

A group founded in 1948 by a group of friends, mostly from the world of festivals. Over the years it has become the largest group in our Festivals. Members of the festival have gone on to form other groups such as the Saudis and Arqueros.

The parade's gala costume consists of a red fez with a white Venetian-style turban and a white robe that reaches mid-calf and is covered by a blue vest with yellow trim, decorated with two golden moons on the front and one on the back. The outfit is complemented by a blue sash with red and yellow stripes and two braided fringes hanging from both legs and a white and brown striped cape with a hood. The dress is adorned with a necklace and golden metal bracelets, a leather satchel and a wooden and metal musket on the shoulder. The footwear is blue shoes with a yellow instep and white high socks.

The second outfit consists of a white djellaba with brown vertical stripes and a hood, a red fez, a leather bag, white high-toed slippers and white high socks.

Our official music band is the Agrupació Musical Ontinyent.
